Yahoo! Sports, for whatever reason, has an unmoderated discussion at the bottom of every single article in the form of user comments.

As expected, the comments section are usually overflowing with dumb, immature banter. However, occasionally somebody really provides insightful commentary and thorough analysis that you probably couldn’t get away with in another forum.

Here is a prime example I found on an article about Tiger Woods’ 17 year old niece who missed the cut at her first LPGA golf tournament:

One of the great side effects of Larry David being in “Whatever Works” (which I thoroughly enjoyed) is that he has to go on talk shows to promote the movie – even though he clearly doesn’t want to.

Watching Larry David on a talk show is like watching a high school senior take a final exam that’s worth 1% of his grade. He just doesn’t give a shit.

I didn’t have an answer for any of them… UNTIL THIS WEEK!

1) Useless receipts.
2) This one.
3) Okay I still don’t remember, but it’s somewhere in Los Angeles.

Before the NBA Playoffs started, I made a bet with my roommate that Kobe would win more postseason games than LeBron.

Things were looking bleak after the Conference Semifinals when Vegas had the undefeated Cavs as favorites to win the title as the Lakers barely escaped an injured Rockets team.

Luckily Cleveland went down six games later in Orlando, otherwise my prize would have gotten here in mid-July rather than today:

One of the best parts about seeing the Lakers win it all tonight was knowing that I’ve been saving every annoying iChat conversation with my dear friend Kunal, a Celtics fan.

These date from May 15 until June 10th, and there would have been more… but they only happen after Laker losses.
